“Pete Charrette, Physical Education Specialist”

I began my teaching career in a small rural town, Palmerton, PA in 1980.  I was the Health and Physical Education Teacher for Grades 9-12 at Palmerton High School.  I also coached Field Hockey, Basketball, Softball, and Track & Field.  My husband and I moved to Vermont in 2005.  I then had the challenging task of searching for a teaching position in Vermont.  I was elated to find one so close to home at the Isle La Motte Elementary School for the past 12 years.  It was a big change going from High School to Elementary Physical Education, but I was up for the challenge and now I am delighted to be the Physical Education Teacher at North Hero School.

I will work each day to maintain a Physical Education program at the North Hero School of excellence focusing on developing and improving students’ personal fitness and motor skills by providing developmentally appropriate activities through purposeful, creative, and enjoyable instruction which will be aligned with the SHAPE America's National Physical Education Standards.

By incorporating challenging yet achievable tasks, the students will attain positive attitudes about physical activity, movement, and the knowledge, skills, and confidence to enjoy a lifetime of physical activity. I look forward to providing your child with an exciting and rewarding physical education program.

I want to share two big events that have been planned for Physical Education classes this year;

  1. North Hero School is registered for the 2021 Stack UP! We are going to help set a WSSA (Word Sport Stacking Association) World Record for the most people Sport Stacking at Multiple Locations on November 16-18, 2021. Here is the link for more details WSSA Stack Up 2021

  2. Local Motion Bike Smart Trailer.  Spring 2022 (application pending).

Please help to make sure your child has sneakers that can be securely fastened on the days they have Physical Education class.
          PreK - Wednesday & Friday
          Grades K, 1, 2 - Tuesday & Friday
          Grades 3, 4, 5, 6 - Monday & Thursday
**Crocs, dress shoes, hiking boots, sandals, or non-athletic sneakers are a few examples that make it difficult for your child to safely participate in Physical Education class.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me. Thank you for your support.

Stay Well.
